Mukesh Bansal, the entrepreneur behind Myntra and Cultfit and the former president of Tata Digital, has launched a new artificial intelligence startup, Nurix AI. He recently secured $27.5 million in seed funding as an early investment from Accel and Silicon Valley-based General Catalyst.
Nurix AI emerged from Bansal’s incubator Meraki Labs, which develops AI agents tailored-made for enterprise applications, initially focusing on sales and customer support. Bansal told media channels that the company’s AI solutions, including its proprietary human-like voice and reasoning capabilities, have improved efficiency and reduced costs by 25-50%.
Currently, the startup has a 20-member team and is pursuing acquisitions in the U.S. to improve its AI capabilities. Bansal believes that customised AI holds a lot of importance in India as it has a competitive advantage in technology services. He also compared the current AI boom to previous technological waves such as Y2K and cloud computing.
