HUL Acquires Majority Stake in Minimalist

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) is set to acquire a 90.5% stake in the beauty and skincare brand Minimalist. The acquisition will be completed through a mix of secondary buyouts and primary investments, with HUL planning to acquire the remaining stake within two years.

Minimalist will operate under HUL’s Beauty & Wellbeing division, led by Harman Dhillon, while Mohit and Rahul will continue managing the brand in collaboration with HUL. The transaction is expected to conclude in the first quarter of FY 2026.

HUL CEO and Managing Director Rohit Jawa emphasised the strategic value of the acquisition in expanding the company’s premium beauty portfolio. Finance and IT Executive Director Ritesh Tiwari highlighted the potential synergies between HUL and Minimalist to scale the brand further.

Minimalist was founded in 2020 by Mohit Yadav and Rahul Yadav. The brand is known for its focus on active ingredients and transparent product offerings. It is reached an Annual Revenue Run Rate (ARR) of ₹500 crore in just four years.

The brand’s founders are optimistic about leveraging HUL’s distribution network to increase the brand’s reach in India and expand into international markets. They aim to make their products more accessible while continuing their journey toward global recognition.
