Swiggy has announced that its quick commerce service, Instamart, will soon have a separate app. Instamart will also remain available on Swiggy’s main app. The service has now expanded to 76 cities in India.

Swiggy’s MD and Group CEO, Sriharsha Majety, said Instamart may grow bigger than its food delivery business in reach and scale. Instamart offers 10-minute deliveries and has about 50,000 products. The company believes Instamart can reach more than 100 million users across India.

The new app will work alongside Instamart’s presence on Swiggy’s main platform. Membership plans like Swiggy One, One Lite, and One BLCK will work on both apps. A shortcut for Instamart is already available on the Play Store for Android users.

Swiggy has followed this model before. It keeps some services separate while also combining them in one platform. Dineout, a restaurant reservation service Swiggy acquired, works both on its own app and inside Swiggy’s main app.

Swiggy currently works with over 200,000 restaurants in 680 cities for food delivery. The company is adding more services to meet the needs of users.
