Swiggy has introduced a new disruption in food delivery with the launch of Bolt—Food Delivered in 10 Minutes. Bolt will deliver quick-to-prepare meals from restaurants and QSRs that are located within a 2 km radius of the customer. The service gives priority to dishes that can be delivered quickly without compromising their taste, freshness, or quality.

Bolt delivers highly sought-after items such as burgers, hot and cold beverages, breakfast dishes, and biryani that require minimal preparation time. It also caters to ready-to-pack items like ice cream, sweets, and snacks. Customers can choose from well-known national brands like KFC, McDonald’s, Burger King, Baskin Robbins, Starbucks, Chaayos, and EatFit, as well as local favourites such as Karachi Bakery and G Pulla Reddy Sweets in Hyderabad, MM Mithaiwala in Mumbai, Bhartiya Jalpan and Anand Sweets in Bangalore, Sethi Ice-cream in Delhi, and Irani Cafe in Pune, among others.

The service has been made possible through collaborations with restaurants that specialise in quick order turnarounds, focusing on dishes that require minimal or no preparation time, while limiting the delivery radius to 2 km. Importantly, delivery partners are not made aware of the difference between Bolt and regular orders, ensuring that they are neither penalised nor incentivised based on delivery times.

Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace, stated, “Bolt is the next evolution in our mission to provide unmatched convenience. Ten years ago, Swiggy revolutionised food delivery by cutting average wait times to 30 minutes. Now, we’re reducing that wait even further for frequently ordered items like coffee, burgers, ice cream, and biryani, partnering with trusted restaurants to deliver the best food in just 10 minutes.”

Bolt is currently operational in six major cities: Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Chennai, and Bangalore. The service will expand into more areas in the coming weeks. The ‘Bolt – Food in 10 mins’ option will be prominently displayed on the Food page within the Swiggy app.
