Murad Khetani—the mastermind behind blockbusters like Kabir Singh, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and Animal—has appointed Akanksha Malhotra as the new CEO of Cine 1 Studios Private Limited.

Akanksha has acquired over 14 years of experience in the film industry and is no stranger to Cine 1 Studios or Bollywood. She was previously involved with Cine 1 Studios for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2I, which was released in 2022. She also worked as Shahid Kapoor’s agent from 2010 to 2019, helping him bag major roles in Padmaavat, Kabir Singh, and Udta Punjab.

Previously, Akanksha was the Assistant Vice President of Talent for Yash Raj Films, responsible for building relationships between actors, producers, studios, and platforms, while working with artists.

Murad Khetani welcomed Akanksha on board as Cine 1 Studio’s CEO, calling her expertise and skillset a perfect match for the organisation. He also reiterated the company’s commitment to make and deliver films that give their audience a wholesome theatrical experience.

Cine 1 Studios will soon release Bhool Bhulaiya 3, starring Kartik Aaryan and Vidya Balan during Diwali; and Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan in December.
