Sibaji Biswas has been named the new Chief Financial Officer of Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI). He will lead SPNI’s financial strategy and corporate finance operations, and improve the organisation’s efficiency and growth across its multi-channel and digital platforms. Biswas has over 20 years of experience in financial leadership and strategic transformation.

Previously, Biswas was the CFO and Executive Director at Syngene International, a Biocon Group subsidiary. During his tenure, he helped the organisation grow by doubling its revenues and nearly tripling market capitalisation over the last five years. His role included the transformation of supply chains and the digitation of operations for better efficiency.

Sibaji’s career also includes a 12-year stint at Vodafone, where he held key roles, including CFO of Vodafone Romania and EVP of corporate development. Before this, he headed corporate finance at Hutchison India, where his strategic vision helped the company scale through innovative finance models.

Gaurav Banerjee, Managing Director and CEO of SPNI, said Biswas is a “strong fit” for SPNI’s leadership team due to his financial acumen and expert insights. His expertise in enhancing operational efficiency and handling complex financial frameworks will be crucial as SPNI strengthens its brand and elevates the viewer experience, he added.
