Hockey star and ace goalie PR Sreejesh has been making rounds in the sports world after clinching the bronze medal with the Indian hockey team at the Paris Olympics. Zomato paid a beautiful tribute celebrating his illustrious career through a mural in Kochi.

“It is like a dream,” Sreejesh said after looking at it.

The mural is called ‘The Great Wall of Indian Hockey,’ its tagline, “Some bites mean more,” marks his final game for the national team, making the medal even more special.

India secured a bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Games, a back-to-back achievement last seen 52 years ago. Sreejesh’s dedication to the game and the nation awarded him the Padma Sri in 2017 and the Khel Ratna Award in 2021. He was also named the World Games Athlete of the Year in 2021.

Sreejesh is currently the Joint Director(Chief Sports Organiser) with the Government of Kerala’s Department of General and Higher Education and a member of the Rotary Club of Kizhakkambalam, District 3201.
