The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) shall elect its new governing body at its 38th Annual General Meeting scheduled on September 4, 2024. It is expected that Partha Sinha, who is at present serving as the Vice-Chairman of ASCI, will be elected as the new Chairman. He would replace the current chairman for the term 2023-2024, Saugata Gupta, Managing Director and CEO, Marico Ltd.
Partha Sinha will take over the new role from being the Vice-Chairman of ASCI. Apart from his new role at ASCI, Sinha has just been appointed President and Chief Brand Officer, at Bennett Coleman & Company Limited in July 2024. BCCL is one of the biggest media conglomerates in India, responsible for huge brands such as The Times of India and The Economic Times.
Sinha has gathered over 30 years of experience in media, advertising and branding. He started his career as a nuclear design engineer and later moved into advertising, banking, and media strategy. He has worked in companies like Ogilvy, Publicis, BBH, McCann, and Citibank.

Sinha is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, where he studied engineering and management.
