Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEEL) has given the green light for Punit Goenka’s reappointment as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. Effective January 1, 2025, Goenka will be back in this position for another five years.
Goenka has held this role since 2008, helping Zee grow into one of India’s largest and most successful media companies. He made Zee TV a strong contender in the Indian entertainment industry by launching popular shows, expanding regional channel offerings and increasing its global presence in more than 170 countries. He also led the launch of Zee’s digital platform– Zee5.
Starting at Essel Group in 1993, Goenka then moved on to ASC Enterprises Limited, which is now known as Dish TV. Before transitioning to senior roles within Zee, he worked at Zee Music Records.

Goenka joined Zee TV in 2004 as a Business Head. After four years, he was promoted to the position of CEO, and in 2010, he became the Managing Director (MD) of Zee. Goenka is a Board Member of the Indian Broadcasting & Digital Foundation (IBDF) and the Director and Founder of the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC).
