This Diwali, Zomato isn’t just delivering food; it’s delivering joy and connection with its latest campaign, ‘Mission Diwali’. Drawing inspiration from the iconic NASA ‘India on Diwali’ photo, Zomato highlights the real-life warmth behind the festival’s glow, proving that Diwali’s magic isn’t just in the lights but in the bonds we share—often over food. In a country where food binds people together, Zomato’s campaign reminds us that it’s these shared moments that truly light up lives.
The campaign’s playful film kicks off with an animated exchange between a NASA astronaut and his boss, as the astronaut hunts for Diwali’s earthly lights. Back on the ground, an elderly man and his grandchildren are in a flurry to brighten their home, with each effort receiving the astronaut’s disappointed “negative, sir.” But then, a Zomato delivery partner arrives with a box of mithai. As the granddaughter offers a sweet to her grandfather, the kaju katli’s silvery gleam finally catches the astronaut’s eye, prompting an enthusiastic “positive, sir!” The film wraps up with the grandfather cheekily suggesting, “Mithai Zomato Karo, desh ko roshan karo,” as the sparkling sweets make their mark on this year’s ‘Diwali NASA picture’.
