India’s top online travel platform, MakeMyTrip, has unveiled a fresh campaign that brings everyday travel hiccups to life with a humorous twist. This three-film series focuses on the brand’s diverse accommodation options, covering International Hotels, Homestays & Villas, and Domestic Hotels. By tapping into relatable travel frustrations, the campaign turns these common annoyances into memorable, light-hearted scenes, making it easier for travellers to explore comfortable options, both at home and abroad. With Bollywood icons Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh as the stars, MakeMyTrip is set on simplifying the journey to finding the ideal stay.
The first film takes us to a hotel abroad, where Alia and Ranveer find themselves comically searching for something “wheatish.” The scene portrays the familiar struggle of not finding comforting Indian food while overseas. Highlighting MakeMyTrip’s “Loved by Indians” filter, it showcases how the platform helps travellers discover hotels that cater to Indian tastes, making foreign lands feel a bit more like home.
In the second film, the focus shifts to budget-conscious travellers who often skip mementoes after overspending on accommodation. Alia and Ranveer creatively turn hotel amenities into “souvenirs,” from bath products to shower caps, capturing the humour of stretching one’s budget. Here, MakeMyTrip emphasises affordability, offering deals like a 25% discount for new users on domestic hotels, ensuring travellers save without compromising on quality.
The third film sheds light on MakeMyTrip’s range of villa options. Alia arrives at a villa, expecting it to be fully serviced, only to find host Ranveer assuming she’ll manage things herself. This playful scene underscores the importance of understanding what’s included with each stay. MakeMyTrip’s extensive selection of serviced villas, from budget to luxury, aims to meet the exact preferences of travellers seeking either autonomy or full service.
