Blinkit, Zomato’s quick-commerce platform, has launched Bistro, stepping into the 10-minute food delivery space. Currently being tested in select Delhi-NCR pin codes, Bistro delivers meals, snacks, and beverages like tea and coffee within 15 minutes.

The app describes itself as a destination for fast and convenient meals delivered instantly. The launch comes just a day after Zepto announced plans to roll out a dedicated app, Cafe, for its food delivery service, which already handles about 30,000 orders daily.

Zepto entered the quick-snack delivery market in 2022 with Zepto Cafe in Mumbai, offering both branded and unbranded pre-made food items. Bistro joins the likes of Zepto Cafe and Swiggy Bolt in catering to customers seeking ready-to-eat options like sandwiches, samosas, pastries, and beverages. Unlike Swiggy’s Bolt, which partners with restaurants, Bistro operates independently.

This is Zomato’s second attempt at 10-minute food delivery, following the closure of Zomato Instant. Bistro now adds to Zomato’s growing suite of brands, including Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure.

With rapid delivery now extending to food, quick-commerce platforms are exploring new ways to grow and diversify their businesses. These platforms like Blinkit and Zepto, which initially focused on groceries, have expanded their offerings over the past three years to include products like apparel and footwear.
